Fun Times at Treasure Cay
The Coco Restaurant and Bar- yes that's a lot of rum, but look up and see what's hanging near the fan? |
Winter Resident Appreciation Night at the Coco Restaurant and Bar was put on by Abaco Tourism, and included free drinks, Bahamian appetizers and entertainment.
Many of our Canadian cruising friends came back to Treasure Cay for this event.

Jules and Karin from La Contessa V11 |

The folks on L Dock |
Ben and Pat |
Jane with Dianne and visiting daughters |
Performances by local singers, a conga line, a limbo contest... my favourite part was the Junkanno Rush Out performed by students of Treasure Cay School.
Students in amazing costumes, blowing horns, beating drums, clanging metal percussion and dancing- very high energy.
One of many happy hours on L Dock

Good food, good company |

The moon rising over cauliflower cumulus clouds |
The pilot of this sea plane is 84. He takes off and lands right in the anchorage, then zooms to his dock in a nearby canal.
30 metres (about 100 feet) from where Old Rosie was anchored |
The scenery is ever changing when you are in an anchorage. |
This sailboat ran aground when trying to anchor beside us. Several cruisers quickly dinghied over to help. |
The plan was to pull down on the boom so the boat would be heeled over enough to motor away. They ended up having to wait for high tide to float them off. |
This and That...
Time for yoga |
....just enough room for Sun Salutations |
Sorting my shells |
Hand stitching the frayed edge of our Canadian flag. |
It's always fun getting from the dinghy to the dock at low tide- laundry bags, grocery bags, water jugs...
OK, hand down the laptop. |
We are back home in Owen Sound. It's hard to believe that it is May when I watch the snow falling outside my kitchen window....maybe working on the remaining blog chapters will warm me up. Stay tuned!
